HOMEWARE SWEET HOMEWARE

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m having a bit of a homeware obsessed phase at the minute. Maybe it’s come about after spending the last month shimmying between Newcastle, London and Northern Ireland, and it’s some deep rooted need to feel ‘at home.’ Maybe it’s because Oliver Bonas’ and Urban Outfitters’ homeware sections are just bloody bangin’ at the minute. Who can say?

I have a deep dislike for impersonal rooms and no matter where I am, love gathering bits and pieces that reflect a little bit about me to make my room feel more mine. Oliver Bonas have totally excelled themselves this Christmas period, and I started off my homeware haul after a good old browse of their dreamy website. Their little elephant ring tidy is SO CUTE I want to shed a tear every time I look at it. There were so many bits I wanted to purchase but in the end I settled for the baby elephant & this beautiful jewellery stand, which is the perfect size for holding my very minimal jewellery collection.

As for the other trinkets, they came from an assortment of places & have all found a good home in my bedroom. The Paris map isn’t actually a poster, it's a genuine map from last October when I jetted off spontaneously with two of my best friends and serves as a little reminder to just have fun. The print displayed on my bookshelf was one of my absolute favourite gifts I received for Christmas and it totally depicts my sarcastic sense of humour. Good job sis.
Stereotypical blogger moment, but this candle nestled in on my shelf is an absolute dream - it ACTUALLY crackles as it burns. It sounds like a fire, and will therefore allow me to pretend my student house is an acceptable climate rather than the freezing cold temperature it truly is. If you ever want to experience what an ice hotel feels like, just visit a student house.

Last but not least in my haul are these beautiful books. My future listography book is one I received on my birthday a while ago which I’ve recently rediscovered and loveee. Seriously, don’t knock the therapeutic values of writing a list until you’ve tried it. As someone who is ALWAYS SO BLOODY BUSY it is so fab to be able to just sit and dream for a while. 'The 20 something guide to getting it together’ book was chosen because as with most twenty-somethings, I’m going through a bit of a what-the-fuck-am-I-going-to-do-with-my-life panic at the minute and was assured by many a review that this book would Sort Me Out. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Well done if you’ve made it this far through my rambling & as usual leave me your links to have a peek through,
